Xcaret Tickets: Prices, Where to Buy, Hours and Discounts

Early in the morning, the line at the Xcaret gate moves slowly under the palms, with families in swimsuits, strollers and daypacks, and the smell of sunscreen drifting over the turnstiles. Everyone is waiting to step into a park of underground rivers, an aquarium and a night show. Tickets are priced on a sliding scale, so how and when you buy matters as much as what you pay.

How much are tickets to Xcaret?

The park does not publish one fixed price for a foreign adult, because Xcaret sets its tickets dynamically and the amount moves with the date and the type of ticket. What stays constant is the discount for planning ahead, which the park advertises for tickets bought online in advance.

Ticket Price Who pays
Online, bought in advance Discount of up to 15% Any visitor
Visitax (Quintana Roo visitor fee) About 293 pesos (2.50 UMA) Foreign visitors entering Quintana Roo, except those entering through the southern border

The advance discount is a reduction from the price shown on the day, so the final amount depends on the date you pick. The Visitax is a separate state fee paid by foreign visitors entering Quintana Roo, not an extra charge from the park. Cruise passengers pay a comparable right through the cruise line instead.

Where to buy tickets

Buying online is the route the park rewards. The advertised discount applies to tickets purchased in advance, and you arrive at the gate with your entry already settled, which shortens the morning wait.

At the gate you pay the price of the day, with no advance reduction. A tour is the third way in, and it bundles the park with transport from your hotel. Compare what the package includes with the cost of a ticket bought directly, since the entry price is set by the park either way.

What the ticket includes

Entry opens the park’s more than 50 natural and cultural attractions: the underground rivers, the aviary, the butterfly pavilion and the coral reef aquarium, along with the replica Maya structures and wildlife areas set among the trees. The evening show, Xcaret Mexico Espectacular, brings more than 300 performers onto the stage and is the park’s closing act, one reason many visitors stay until night. Extras such as parking, lockers or guides are priced by the park, so look at the options on its ticket page before paying.

Free entry and discounts

The one reduction the park advertises is for online purchases made in advance, up to 15 percent off. That applies to anyone who books ahead rather than paying at the gate. Rates for children, seniors, students or Mexican residents are set by the park and shown when you choose your ticket type, so pick the category that fits your group at checkout.

Opening hours and the best time to go

Site Open
Parque Xcaret Daily, 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.

The park keeps long days, which lets you split the visit. Early risers get the jungle trails while the air is still cool and the paths are quiet, and the aquarium and aviary feel unhurried. By midday the crowds thicken around the popular attractions.

Staying into the evening rewards you with the show and softer light, and the park empties of day-trippers as the sky darkens. Weekdays tend to feel calmer than weekends.

Good to know before you go

The U.S. State Department rates the state of Quintana Roo Level 2, ‘Exercise increased caution,’ due to terrorism and crime.

Pesos are handy for small purchases around the park. Keep your belongings close in crowds, as you would anywhere busy. The Atlantic hurricane season runs from June 1 to November 30, so a rainy or stormy day is possible on a trip in those months, and it helps to have some flexibility in your plans.
