US universities and school districts stagger their breaks across March, so demand builds and holds instead of spiking, and it lands almost entirely on two stretches: the Montego Bay hotel strip and Negril’s Seven Mile Beach (est.). The east end behaves differently. High season opens mid-December and closes mid-April, which puts all four March weeks inside it, with spring-break demand adding a second layer on the two busiest coasts (est.). Expect firm asking rates, minimum-stay rules at the marquee resorts and little movement on last-minute inventory (est.). The relief arrives after mid-April rather than before it. March weather in Jamaica: temperatures and rain days, coast by coast

The east-west split is the story of March: Kingston logs 33 mm across 8 days while Port Antonio logs 97 mm across 19, and a rain day here means at least 1 mm recorded in the reanalysis grid, not a washed-out afternoon. Daylight worth planning around. Kingston’s sunset stretches from about 6:13pm early in the month to 6:20pm at the end, so a river morning and a beach afternoon fit inside one day without rushing either. Dry ground also makes March the month for the inland trails and plantation roads that turn to soup in autumn.
