A swim-up bar, a glass of something cold in your hand, and a pool that opens straight onto the room terrace: that is the rhythm of an all-inclusive stay in Nassau, where nobody reaches for a wallet at lunch. The Bahamas has a handful of resorts that bundle meals, drinks and activities, spread across New Providence, Paradise Island and San Salvador. Across New Providence, Paradise Island and San Salvador, those resorts differ in who they suit, what is bundled in, and which island holds which one.

What all-inclusive resorts are there in the Bahamas?
The Bahamas has a short but varied list of all-inclusive resorts, led by Sandals Royal Bahamian in Nassau, Club Med Columbus Isle on San Salvador and Melia Nassau Beach in Nassau, with Baha Mar and Atlantis offering resort-style stays on New Providence and Paradise Island. Each one belongs to a single island, so choosing a resort is also choosing a place on the map.
They differ in mood far more than in concept. One is for couples only, one has a long list of activities for a mixed crowd, one is a big beachfront complex with a casino and a water park. Deciding which fits is mostly a question of who is traveling with you.
Sandals Royal Bahamian, Nassau
Sandals Royal Bahamian is the only Sandals resort in the Bahamas, and it is an adults-only place designed for couples. Evenings are about dressing up a little and choosing among ten specialty restaurants, while days drift between the pool, the beach and the water sports that come with the stay, including PADI scuba diving at no extra charge.
The signature touch is the private offshore island that comes with the resort, a short boat ride away from the main property, and the swim-up rooms, where you step from the terrace into the water. The top level of swim-up rooms adds Elite Butler service and private Rolls Royce airport transfers. It suits honeymooners and anniversary trips, and it is the one to look at if you want a pampered week without children around.
Club Med Columbus Isle, San Salvador
Club Med Columbus Isle sits on San Salvador, a quiet island far from the bustle of Nassau. The airport is five minutes from the resort, so arrival is quick, though transfers are not automatically part of the package and can be arranged privately or directly with the resort.
Twenty-six activities are included in the stay, and thirty more can be discovered on demand. Waterskiing and wakeboarding are offered only in summer, and teenagers get Junior Club Med in July and August. Scuba diving costs extra here, unlike at Sandals. The resort is described as perfect for couples and adults looking for a romantic or serene getaway, with some family-friendly options for those who bring children.
Melia Nassau Beach and RIU
Melia Nassau Beach is an all-inclusive hotel in Nassau, one of seventy all-inclusive hotels in the Meliá family and also counted among its family hotels. That makes it a natural pick for parents who want the all-inclusive format without an adults-only rule. Meliá may offer free stays for up to two children with resort credit, and MeliáRewards members get perks such as priority check-in and late check-out.
RIU has one hotel in the Bahamas, with prices starting from 174 EUR. For couples who want a grown-up evening and families who want a pool day, these two options sit at the more relaxed end of the range.
What does all-inclusive mean here?
In the Bahamas, all-inclusive means your meals, drinks and a set of activities are covered by one price, though what exactly is bundled changes from resort to resort. Reading the fine detail of each property matters more than the label.
Food and drink
At Sandals Royal Bahamian, unlimited cocktails and premium liquors are included, and dining stretches across ten specialty restaurants, so a week can pass without repeating a table. The experience is built around lingering: a long lunch by the pool, a sunset drink, then dinner in a dressier setting.
Melia Nassau Beach follows the Meliá all-inclusive model, and MeliáRewards points can be used for restaurants and spas across the group. Baha Mar, by contrast, is a resort of three hotels, Grand Hyatt, SLS and Rosewood, on Cable Beach, and it is described as a resort rather than an all-inclusive package.
Activities and extras
Water sports are the heart of the bundle. Sandals includes a variety of them along with free PADI scuba diving, and Club Med counts twenty-six activities in the stay. Diving at Club Med is the exception, charged on top.
Baha Mar guests enjoy unlimited access to Baha Bay, a water park on fifteen beachfront acres next to the resort. The casino on Cable Beach offers live sports betting, which gives evenings a different pace from the quiet dinners at an adults-only resort.
Offers and loyalty perks
Atlantis Paradise Island, with five distinct hotels open to everyone, has an offer for stays of four nights or more that saves up to 35% and adds a $250 resort credit, with complimentary breakfast for two. The Cove hotel there is built around luxury, sensuality and white-glove Bahamian service.
Meliá advertises early booking discounts of up to 35%, plus an extra 10% with a code at participating properties, and Meliá Escapes lets guests book flight and hotel together. These are offers that come and go, so treat them as examples of what the brands do rather than fixed terms.
Which islands have them?
Two islands carry most of the all-inclusive choices, New Providence (with Nassau and Cable Beach) and Paradise Island, while San Salvador holds Club Med and Great Exuma has a resort in transition. The Ministry of Tourism lists hotels, mega resorts and fishing lodges across many more islands, including Grand Bahama, the Abacos, Eleuthera and Harbour Island, the Exumas, Bimini, Andros and Cat Island.
New Providence and Nassau
Nassau is where Sandals Royal Bahamian and Melia Nassau Beach stand, and Cable Beach, also on New Providence, is home to Baha Mar. Baha Mar fills its calendar with events: the Bahamas Culinary & Arts Festival runs from October 21st to 25th, the Baha Mar Cup tennis event from December 10th to 13th, and WSOP Paradise runs at Baha Mar from December 2 to 17, 2026. A New Year’s Eve celebration with a live performance by Ludacris closes the year.
Delta has launched a seasonal Saturday non-stop flight from Minneapolis to Nassau, which started on December 20, 2025, a useful link for travelers from the Upper Midwest.
Paradise Island
Atlantis Paradise Island is on Paradise Island, a separate island from Nassau, and it holds five hotels. Everyone is welcome at any of them, from the busy towers to The Cove, which leans toward a quieter, more refined stay. It is a resort for travelers who want everything within one property, with the offer for longer stays making a week more appealing than a quick weekend.
San Salvador and Great Exuma
San Salvador is the remote choice. Club Med Columbus Isle has a local clinic five minutes away, and the hospital is in Nassau, an hour by flight. That distance is part of the appeal for people who want quiet and also part of the planning.
On Great Exuma, Sandals Emerald Bay closed on August 15, 2024, and is being transformed into a Beaches Resort that will be family-friendly, with kids and teen clubs, a water playground and new dining, keeping the same beach and golf course. No reopening date has been announced. For now, Sandals Royal Bahamian in Nassau, recently renovated and with its offshore island, is the alternative.
Good to know before you go
The U.S. State Department rates the Bahamas Level 2, “Exercise increased caution”, and says most crime occurs in Nassau on New Providence and in Freeport on Grand Bahama.
The Atlantic hurricane season runs from June 1 to November 30, so a stay in those months falls inside it. Package details, transfers and offers vary by resort, so read what each one includes before you pick, especially for airport transfers at Club Med on San Salvador and extras such as diving.
