WARM MINERAL SPRINGS · FLORIDA · NOVEMBER
The USGS gauge at Warm Mineral Springs read 84.6°F (29.2°C) on September 11, 2026, and it reads close to that on a February morning too. A spring has no seasons. The air above it does, and in November that air averages a high of 80.0°F and a low of 60.1°F. November keeps the water exactly where October left it and takes 6.3 degrees off the afternoon.
What it takes back is light and length of day: 10 hours 51 minutes on November 15, with the sun gone by 5:39 p.m. Rain drops to 1.81 inches from October’s 2.76. If you are still choosing a season for the whole state rather than a date for this one spring, our Florida calendar does that job.

THE MONTH AT A GLANCE · WARM MINERAL SPRINGS
November trades October’s 86.3°F afternoons for 80.0°F, cuts rain to 1.81 inches, and leaves the spring at 84.6°F: the easiest swim of the three autumn months.
AIR 80.0°F / 60.1°F · WATER 84.6°F · 1.81 IN OF RAIN · 10H 51M OF DAYLIGHT
Go for: swimming without heat, 2.5 wet days in thirty, and a 24.5-degree gap between the water and the average dawn air.
Think twice before: planning long evenings outdoors, or booking around a gate price and an opening hour we could not verify.

One caveat before the numbers start. We could not verify an entrance fee, an opening hour or a manatee count at the spring: the state parks site returned a 403 to our automated reads on September 11, 2026, and the FWC manatee page renders client-side. So we quote none of the three, and we would treat a price you find quoted for another Florida spring as unchecked here.

Every air figure here comes from one thermometer: NOAA’s National Centers for Environmental Information, 1991-2020 monthly normals, station USW00012871 at the Sarasota Bradenton airport, about 27 miles (44 km) up the coast from the spring. That is a real station record rather than a gridded model estimate, and it describes the air only. Nothing in that dataset measures the water at the vent.
An inch and four fifths of November rain arrives in very few sittings. An average November records 2.5 days with at least 0.10 inch, roughly one day in twelve, and 0.4 day with an inch or more, which works out to a real soaking about two Novembers in five. In practice: pick any morning for the outdoor part of the day and the odds are with you, and keep the swim as the rain-proof plan, since getting wet is already the point.
Between the 60.1°F night and the 80.0°F afternoon sits a 19.9-degree swing, and it lands on the two ends of the day you are most likely to spend outside. Pack a fleece you will happily stuff into a daypack by ten, and a second towel. Coming out of 84.6°F water into 60-degree dawn air asks more of you than coming out of it at three in the afternoon. Nothing in these normals calls for a coat.
On November 15 the sun is up for 10 hours 51 minutes. Converted to Eastern Standard Time, that runs from 6:48 a.m. to 5:39 p.m., so the light goes before most people would call it evening. That sunset sets the shape of the day more than the temperature does: anything you drive to after lunch has to finish in daylight, and the last swim wants to start by four.
How warm is Warm Mineral Springs in November?
The month averages 80.0°F by day and 60.1°F at night, a spread of 19.9 degrees. Put the water beside those and the ranking flips: at 84.6°F the spring was 4.6 degrees warmer than a normal November afternoon and 24.5 degrees warmer than a normal November dawn. That reading is one instantaneous measurement from USGS gauge 02299260, taken on September 11, 2026, not a monthly average, and the gauge sits close to it all year.
Mornings want long sleeves and a hot drink in the car. By eleven you are in shorts. By three, 80 degrees under mid-November sun is the version of Florida people fly for, and a shaded bench beats a hat. Then the sun drops at 5:39 p.m. and the 60-degree half of the day returns fast, which is the moment anyone who packed only swimwear regrets it. Dinner outside is fine in a sweatshirt and unpleasant in a T-shirt.
On frost: we read no freezing-day count in the NOAA normals, so we give no number for it. What the normals do carry is an average November low sitting 28 degrees above freezing at the airport station. Cold snaps do reach southwest Florida in winter, but a typical November night here is a light-jacket night.
How busy is Warm Mineral Springs in November: crowds and prices
We found no occupancy series and no monthly room-rate series for this corner of the Gulf coast, so we crown no month cheap and no month expensive. What the record does carry is the seasonal turn: rain falls from 2.76 inches to 1.81, wet days from 4.1 to 2.5, and afternoons cool by 6.3 degrees. That is the combination that starts pulling winter visitors south, and our Florida calendar lays out where the rest of the state stands in the same weeks.
Book it like the opening of a busy season rather than the tail of a quiet one. Since we could not verify opening hours or an admission price, the sensible order is to confirm with the operator first and reserve the room second, refundable if the rate allows. Travelers flying in land about 27 miles (44 km) away at Sarasota Bradenton, the same airport that houses the weather station behind these normals. Our flights guide covers the airport map, and where to stay handles the bases.
On the lodging tax we have nothing to report: we could not verify the county’s tourist-development rate, so no percentage comes from us. Expect a tax line on the room bill, ask what it is at the time of booking, and treat a figure found on a forum as unchecked. The statewide budget arithmetic lives in our Florida trip cost guide.
The one place extra money changes a November day here is the car. Sunset at 5:39 p.m. leaves a short return window, the spring sits 27 miles from the airport, and we could not verify a schedule at the far end. Your own vehicle means arriving when the gate opens and leaving in a wet swimsuit without waiting on anyone. Getting around Florida covers the toll transponder question before you sign the rental form.
Things to do in Warm Mineral Springs in November

November lets you spend the whole day outside and the whole day in the water without picking one. October brings 86.3°F afternoons, plenty of heat for the walk between swims. December falls to 75.2°F days and 55.2°F nights, cool enough that stepping out of 84.6°F water stops being a pleasure. In between sit 80.0 and 60.1, and that is the month’s entire argument.
The spring itself is the attraction, and the numbers we can stand behind come from the USGS: 84.6°F at the vent and 8 cubic feet per second leaving it on September 11, 2026. That discharge is why the water looks the way it does, replaced faster than it can cloud. We could not verify an entrance fee, an opening hour or a manatee count, so we quote none of them, and a price published for a different Florida spring does not transfer to this one.
The vent holds its temperature all year while the air above it drops through the fall, and the gap is what makes the season. In October the vent runs 16.3 degrees above the average dawn. November widens that to 24.5 degrees, December to 29.4. That widening is what people mean when they say the water feels warmer in winter, though the thermometer in it has not moved. It also means the walk from the parking area counts for more in November than it did four weeks earlier.
Free in November: the gauge readings. USGS station 02299260 publishes the spring’s temperature and its discharge publicly, so you can check whether the water is still in the 84.6°F class before you give a morning to the drive. Past that we can price nothing, since the gate figure stayed out of reach. If the water plan collapses, the Gulf beaches are up the coast and our Siesta Key guide has the parking detail.
Warm Mineral Springs in November: a two-day itinerary
Day one runs on the 6:48 a.m. sunrise. Move by seven with coffee and a jacket, reach the water as early as access allows, and take the first swim while the air is still in the 60s and the water-to-air gap is at its 24.5-degree widest. Out around eleven, eat outside as the afternoon climbs toward 80, and give the middle of the day to a walk or a drive. Last swim by four. The light is gone at 5:39 p.m., and the return leg is better driven before it.
Day two can start slower, because the vent reads the same at ten as at seven. Give the morning to the coast, keep the afternoon for a second and longer soak, and finish before sunset. If the sky turns, weigh the odds: 2.5 days in an average November bring at least a tenth of an inch, and rain changes nothing about the water temperature. What rain spoils is the walk between the car and the water, so carry a dry change of clothes and leave the towels in the trunk.
Warm Mineral Springs in November vs October and December
| Measure | October | November | December |
|---|---|---|---|
| Average high | 86.3°F | 80.0°F | 75.2°F |
| Average low | 68.3°F | 60.1°F | 55.2°F |
| Precipitation | 2.76 in | 1.81 in | 2.33 in |
| Days with 0.10 in or more | 4.1 | 2.5 | 3.0 |
| Water at the vent | No seasonal swing measured | No seasonal swing measured | No seasonal swing measured |
Side by side, November is the middle child on every air measure and the equal of both on the only water measure. Highs run 86.3, 80.0 and 75.2 degrees across the three months. Lows run 68.3, 60.1 and 55.2. Rain goes 2.76, 1.81 and 2.33 inches, making November the driest of the three by nearly an inch over October and half an inch over December, with the wet-day count following at 4.1, 2.5 and 3.0. The vent takes no part in any of it.
Shift four weeks earlier and you buy 6.3 degrees of afternoon and longer light, paying for them with almost an extra inch of rain and 1.6 more wet days. Our October page makes that case in full. Shift four weeks later and December hands back 4.8 degrees of day and 4.9 of night while rain climbs again to 2.33 inches. For a swimmer the November trade is the better one. For a sunbather, October still wins on air alone.
Is November a good time to visit Warm Mineral Springs?
Yes for swimmers, walkers and anyone who came to Florida in spite of its heat rather than because of it. An 80.0°F afternoon over 84.6°F water is about as comfortable as that pairing gets, and 2.5 wet days out of thirty is a low bar. No if your trip depends on long evenings: 10 hours 51 minutes of daylight and a 5:39 p.m. sunset make for early dinners. No, too, if you need a confirmed gate price and opening hour before booking, because we could not verify either.
If the short day is what stops you, October is the month to take instead, at the cost of 2.76 inches of rain and 4.1 wet days on the calendar. If heat is what you are dodging, December goes further down, to 75.2°F afternoons and 55.2°F nights, cool enough to make the walk back from the water the worst part of the day.
November’s own offer is narrow and real: water sitting 24.5 degrees above the average dawn air, afternoons that stop at 80.0°F, and the fewest wet days of the three months at 2.5.
The last word
Decide this one on the water, not the seven-day forecast. The spring was moving 8 cubic feet per second when the USGS last read it, and that flow is what keeps the water clear whatever the sky is doing. One thing we checked and could not close: Florida law reserves the label Outstanding Florida Spring for every historic first-magnitude spring plus six written into statute 373.802(5), and the statute text did not let us confirm whether this one belongs to that list. Call ahead, bring the sweatshirt for 6:48 a.m., and let 84.6°F handle the rest.
