WALT DISNEY WORLD · THE FOUR-DAY PLAN · ORLANDO, FLORIDA
Walt Disney World runs four theme parks and two water parks west of Orlando, and its own sitemap, read on September 17, 2026, lists what sits inside each one: 41 attractions at Magic Kingdom, 35 at EPCOT, 38 at Animal Kingdom, 15 at Hollywood Studios. That comes to 129 attractions behind four separate gates, with separate parking lots and separate buses between them. One park a day for four days is the only shape that touches all four.
Four park days ask for at least four nights, and five if the flight into Orlando lands after dinner. The resort lists 256 hotel pages of its own, and the bed you book decides how much of each morning goes to transportation instead of turnstiles. The budget side sits in what a Florida trip costs, the bed question in where to stay in Florida, and the wider park comparison in the Florida theme parks guide.

THE FOUR-DAY PLAN AT A GLANCE · WALT DISNEY WORLD
Four days gives one park per day, which is the only way to reach all four gates without repeating a park or dropping one from the trip.
FOUR THEME PARKS · TWO WATER PARKS · 129 LISTED ATTRACTIONS · COUNTS READ SEP 17, 2026
Go for: one park a day, with the densest list on day one and the shortest list on day four.
Think twice before: squeezing four parks into three days, because the counts do not shrink to fit the calendar.

Those counts come from one source, Disney’s own sitemap, read on September 17, 2026. They say how much the operator publishes for each park. They say nothing about attendance, so a longer list is not a busier park, and no park gets called the most popular anywhere here.
How many days do you need at Disney World? Four is the minimum
Add the four lists and you reach 129 attractions. Split that over three days and one of the four parks gets no day at all, because these are four separate properties with their own lots, their own buses and their own walk from the tram to the turnstile. Four days gives each park a morning it does not have to share with another gate. List length says nothing about how long any line runs, and the operator publishes no wait time in a form worth quoting, so read 129 as ground to cover rather than hours to budget.
Magic Kingdom in one day: 41 attractions
Magic Kingdom carries the longest list of the four, 41 attractions with 60 dining locations threaded between them. A day here works by subtraction. Pick the eight or ten your group actually wants (est.) and accept that the rest stay on the map until a later trip. The lands run in a ring around a central hub, with Main Street U.S.A. at the entrance and Adventureland, Frontierland, Liberty Square, Fantasyland and Tomorrowland around the circle, so those 41 listings are spread around a loop rather than stacked along one street.
Walk the ring in one direction and commit to it. Crossing the hub twice costs real minutes in a park this size, since the center is the only quick link between opposite lands. Going left first, through Adventureland and Frontierland, puts the far side of the loop behind you while legs are fresh, leaves Fantasyland for the middle of the day and keeps Tomorrowland near the exit at night. Reverse the direction if your group’s non-negotiable ride sits in Tomorrowland. Either way, plan one lap and no return trips across the hub.
First to go: the second ride on anything, the mid-day trip back to the hotel, and most of those 60 dining locations. A table-service meal in the middle of a Magic Kingdom day removes a solid piece of the afternoon, while counter windows sit in every land. Main Street U.S.A. shops line the exit, which is the right moment to browse them. If the group stays for the nighttime fireworks, the bus back runs late and the following park morning pays for it.
EPCOT in one day: pavilions and 107 dining locations
EPCOT comes in two halves that ask for different things. The front section holds the pavilions built around science, land and sea. The back is World Showcase, a lagoon ringed by country pavilions from Mexico around to Canada. By attraction count the park sits third of the four, 35 against Magic Kingdom’s 41 and Animal Kingdom’s 38. By dining it leads by a distance, 107 locations against 60, 45 and 40 at the other three parks, roughly three places to eat or drink for every attraction listed.
Distance, not queueing, is what limits an EPCOT day. World Showcase is a full loop on foot with no shortcut across the water, and every pavilion pulls you off the path and back onto it. Give the front pavilions the morning while the group still wants rides, then cross into World Showcase for the afternoon and eat your way around one side. If the day runs short, stop halfway around the lagoon and walk back the way you came rather than completing the ring in the dark.
How long to spend at Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios: one day in each
Day three and day four are not the same size. Animal Kingdom lists 38 attractions and 45 dining locations. Hollywood Studios lists 15 and 40, the shortest attraction list of the four parks. Take the 38 first, on day three, while legs are still willing, because Animal Kingdom spends its list on trails, a safari loop and long stretches between Africa, Asia and Pandora. Hollywood Studios then takes day four, when a shorter list and a tighter layout ask less of everybody.
Fifteen attractions reads like a half day on paper and behaves like a full one. Hollywood Studios concentrates its listings into a few large areas, Sunset Boulevard, Toy Story Land and Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, and the headline rides there absorb time nobody can quantify from published data. A half day does work at Animal Kingdom if you take the safari and the walking trails and leave after lunch. Adding Hollywood Studios to that same afternoon does not, since the two parks sit apart and the bus transfer swallows the gap.
A group down to three days should cut Hollywood Studios, on the counts alone: 15 listings is the smallest loss available. Hand that day back to Magic Kingdom, where a single visit leaves most of 41 untouched. Families traveling with small children often make the opposite cut and drop Animal Kingdom, whose distances are the hardest part of the week for short legs, and our Florida with kids guide makes the same case. Either cut is a real one: three days over four parks leaves one park unvisited.
Disney World water parks: Typhoon Lagoon, Blizzard Beach and a second Magic Kingdom day
The two water parks are the smaller listings. Typhoon Lagoon lists 13 attractions and 8 dining locations. Blizzard Beach lists 14 attractions and 13 dining locations. Between them that is 27 listed attractions, roughly a fifth of the 129 across the four theme parks, and the difference shows up in how a day there runs: slides in the morning, a chair and a chicken basket afterward, no route to hold in your head.
The other use of a fifth day is a second pass at Magic Kingdom. One day against 41 attractions leaves plenty behind, and a returning group already knows the ring, the counter windows and which side of the hub it wants. Nothing goes to orientation the second time. The same argument fits EPCOT when the first visit stopped halfway around World Showcase and never reached Canada.
Take the fifth day if you are traveling in Florida’s hot months with children who will swim all afternoon, or if weather broke one of your four park days. Skip it if the group is already worn down by day four, or if you would rather move that day to the coast, the shape our week in Florida uses. Water park opening seasons were not something we could read in the operator’s file, and a January swim is a different question from a July one, so confirm before you count on the day.
We have not quoted a ticket price, a park-hopper rule, an opening hour, a wait time or a height minimum, and that is a decision rather than an oversight. Disney publishes none of them as a stable, citable schedule, and a figure copied today would be wrong within weeks. What the operator does publish in a form worth repeating is the inventory: 129 attractions, 252 dining locations across the four parks, 256 hotel pages. For money and hours, use the resort’s own site on the morning you book, and the Orlando calendar for the season around it.
