Negril’s West End cliffs or Seven Mile Beach

The West End is the honeymoon side. The cliff road runs south from the roundabout past small hotels built onto the rock, rooms above the water, ladders instead of shoreline. Swimming means climbing down into deep blue, which suits two adults and rules out anyone who wants to wade. Sunset here is a choice of congregation rather than a choice of view: the cliff-diving bar with its countdown and its cruise-day crowd, or a terrace of four tables a few hundred meters along with the same horizon (est.).

Seven Mile Beach is the other Negril, and it is not the lesser one. Flat sand, shallow warm entry, and most of the adults-only all-inclusive inventory on this coast (est.), which matters when the plan involves not thinking about lunch for six days. The trade is company: vendors, sound systems and daytime energy the cliffs never produce. Port Antonio without a resort: Frenchman’s Cove and the Blue Lagoon

Port Antonio is what couples choose when other people are the problem. No cruise crowds, no strip, a working harbor town on the northeast coast with rainforest standing behind it. Frenchman’s Cove gives you a pocket beach where a cold river runs into salt water, so an afternoon is spent moving between two temperatures. The Blue Lagoon performs the postcard version of the same trick, deep water famous for shifting color through the day, best seen from a boat and, locals say, late in the light.

Quiet costs distance. This coast sits hours from Montego Bay’s airport by road, so the honeymoon budget carries either a long transfer or a Kingston arrival, both priced on the transfer page. Lodging runs boutique and villa rather than mega-resort, dinner options are countable on one hand, and evenings finish early. Couples who want a spa menu and three restaurants under one roof will be happier on another coast. Port Antonio pays off the opposite temperament.
