Paros Hotels: Where to Stay on the Island, Area by Area

Stay in Naoussa for atmosphere, in Parikia for ease, and in a quieter village like Piso Livadi, Ambelas or Aliki if you want calm and plan to rent a car. Paros is very drivable, so the choice comes down to the mood you want when you walk out the door in the morning and again at night.

Which area of Paros should you pick?

Think of the island as a handful of bases, each with its own pace. Naoussa is polished and social. Parikia is the working port town with the ferries and buses. Golden Beach is for wind and water. Aliki, Piso Livadi and Ambelas are quiet seaside villages. Lefkes sits up in the hills.

Most places on Paros are under 35 minutes apart by car, so no base leaves you stranded. With a rental car you can also split the trip between two bases, say a lively few nights in Naoussa followed by a calmer hotel to unwind.

Is Naoussa a good place to stay in Paros?

Naoussa

Yes, if atmosphere matters most. Naoussa is a picture-perfect fishing port turned chic destination. Mornings mean coffee over the small harbor. Evenings mean sunset cocktails, waterfront dinners and wandering whitewashed alleys lined with boutiques, galleries and artisan jewelry shops. Most of the island's clubs and discos are here, so it is the place for a long night out. The trade-off is price and crowds: Naoussa runs pricier than Parikia and can feel packed in peak summer.

Hotels lean boutique and luxury. Cove Paros has sleek Cycladic design, sea views and an infinity pool on a quiet beachfront with easy access to town. Hotel Senia has seafront suites with private balconies, a heated infinity pool and a short walk to the harbor. Adonis Hotel Studios & Apartments offers balconies over a small cove within walking distance of the center. Ask for a harbor-view room, because the sunsets are the point.

Naoussa makes a good base for beaches such as Kolymbithres and Santa Maria. Its bus terminal is a level six-minute walk from the harbor, and from Parikia the drive takes around 16 minutes and the bus about 30.

Is Parikia better for first-timers?

Parikia

Parikia is the easiest first base, especially for a short stay or a trip without a car. The capital and main port has an authentic, lived-in feel: cobbled lanes wind between whitewashed houses and old churches, the waterfront buzzes, and ferries to Athens and other islands leave from the harbor. The main bus station sits just to the right as you leave the port, with routes to Naoussa, Aliki, Lefkes and the Pounta ferry point for Antiparos.

Where you sleep in town shapes the stay. The port and waterfront are unbeatable for logistics and the noisiest zone in summer, with early ferries, traffic and late-night movement, so they suit short stays, late arrivals and early departures. The old town is charming and walkable, though lively at night. For proper rest, especially with children, stay five to ten minutes outside the waterfront.

Livadia, the beach side of town, is a pleasant walk northeast of the port, with a long sandy beach and calm water. It suits families and anyone who wants the sea close with the town still on foot. KOKOON, a stylish budget pick in central Parikia with balconies and a sun terrace, is a short walk from Livadia Beach. Hotel Oasis is steps from the beach, the ferry and the Church of Ekatontapyliani, with family rooms and on-site dining.

The hills above Parikia are a quiet spot, mostly villas with wide views over the town and the Aegean, and a good fit for couples. You will need a car or taxi to get down. Just outside town, the Paros Palace Hotel offers modern amenities a short drive from Parikia's restaurants, and it welcomes adult guests. Hotels slightly outside the main towns tend to be quieter, roomier and better value, with town still close for dinner.

Where do you stay for beaches and watersports?

Golden Beach

Golden Beach is the island's windsurfing and kitesurfing spot, a long stretch of sand where the Meltemi wind does the work. Several clubs rent equipment and run lessons, and many also rent paddleboards and kayaks. Mornings tend to be calmer for swimming before the wind picks up. Peak summer and early autumn are the liveliest times, when the beach buzzes with board riders.

Poseidon of Paros Hotel & Spa is a five-star beachfront resort with a spa, tennis courts and family rooms. Saint George Hotel has Aegean-view balconies and poolside dining, and Golden Beach Hotel is a relaxed beachfront option made for watersports fans. The bus from Parikia takes roughly 50 to 55 minutes, so a car makes life much easier here.

Santa Maria

Santa Maria, on the north coast, has two golden beaches with views of Naxos and clear water that is good for snorkeling. It is a good pick if you want to disconnect, though a campsite behind the beaches makes it a bit busier in summer.

Where can you find somewhere quiet?

Aliki

Aliki is a traditional, easygoing village with soft beaches, local tavernas and a friendly feel. Some tables sit right on the shore, so lunch can happen with your feet in the water. It is much calmer than Naoussa or Parikia yet has enough restaurants and cafes for a slow stay. Kiano Suites is beachfront with sea-view balconies and easy access to Paros Airport, and Evita Apartments, close to Agios Nikolaos Beach, is good for families.

Piso Livadi

Piso Livadi is a small harbor village with waterfront tavernas known for fresh seafood. Mornings are slow, evenings romantic, and it feels far from the touristy spots. Faragas, Molos and Golden Beach are all easy to reach. Cavo Piso Livadi is beachfront luxury with an infinity pool steps from the sand, and Londos Hotel is a laid-back option two minutes from the beach.

Ambelas

Ambelas is a peaceful village on the northeast coast with a handful of boutique hotels, calm beaches and good seafood tavernas. Naoussa is around six to eight minutes away by car, so you get quiet nights with a lively town close by. Vione Paros is an elegant adults-friendly boutique hotel. Ambelas Mare Apartments has kitchens and direct beach access, and the family-run Christiana Hotel sits right by the beach.

Lefkes

Lefkes is a hilltop village of cobbled streets, small churches, little shops and wide views. It suits sightseeing and walking better than beach days, and it is the starting point for the Byzantine Route, the island's oldest hiking trail. One or two nights inland break up a beach trip nicely. The Olive Mill Guesthouse has a garden terrace, family rooms and kitchenettes.

Which area suits your kind of trip?

  • First-timers: Naoussa or Parikia.
  • Couples: Naoussa, Piso Livadi, or Ambelas.
  • Families: Aliki, Golden Beach, or Santa Maria.
  • Budget travelers: Parikia and the smaller villages.
  • Beach and watersports fans: Golden Beach.
  • Culture and calm: Lefkes.

Do you need a car, and what about booking?

A rental car is the best way to see Paros, though Parikia and Naoussa work without one. They are the island's two bus hubs, and intercity buses link them with the port, the airport, beaches and other villages. The network is cheap and reliable, and it reaches some beaches. If you arrive by ferry, rent from a company at Paros port so the office is close to the boat; one-way transfers can be overpriced by comparison. A car also gets you to quiet beaches such as Faragas, Molos and the coves around Santa Maria, many of them poorly signposted, so download offline maps before you go.

Book early for July and August, especially in Naoussa, where peak-summer prices can climb. The high season stretches from late June to early September. If you plan to ride the bus, check the current timetable before you travel and buy your ticket before boarding when you can. 2026 prices: tickets bought on the bus cost more, €2.80 or €4.00.
