The first thing November changes in Orlando is the afternoon. Average highs at Orlando International Airport fall to 78.3°F, nearly six and a half degrees under October’s, and the sticky edge goes out of a day spent walking between rides, queues and trailheads. Mornings turn cool enough for a light layer before nine. The springs north of town keep their year-round warmth while the air around them cools.
The Atlantic hurricane season still runs until November 30, so the month sits inside it, even though NOAA places most activity between mid-August and mid-October. Days are shorter too. On the 15th the sun sets at 5:33 p.m. Eastern, and that sets a firm deadline on a paddle or a park evening.

Most visitors land at MCO, Orlando International, which boarded 27,859,783 passengers in 2024 according to the FAA, the busiest in Florida and ahead of Miami. Sanford (SFB), north of MCO, boarded 1.4 million. The two sit at different distances from the parks. NOAA’s National Centers for Environmental Information publish the 1991–2020 normals for station USW00012815, a real thermometer at Orlando International Airport. Every figure here comes from that station, not from a reanalysis grid cell. For November it logs an average high of 78.3°F, an average low of 58.2°F and 1.79 inches of precipitation across the month. A normal is a thirty-year average, so a single November can run a few degrees either side of it.
Measurable rain, 0.10 inch or more, falls on 3.0 days in an average November, roughly one day in ten. A soaking of an inch or more comes on 0.5 day, so about one November in two brings a single heavy downpour and the other passes without one. On a five-night trip the odds favor dry days, and one flexible slot in the plan covers the rest.
Between the 58.2°F dawn and the 78.3°F afternoon sits a gap of about 20°F. Pack for both ends: a fleece or light jacket for early starts and evenings, short sleeves and sunscreen for midday, and closed shoes if a paddle or trail morning is planned. On November 15 Orlando gets about 10 hours 46 minutes of daylight, from a 6:47 a.m. sunrise to a 5:33 p.m. sunset, Eastern Standard Time. Sunrise-sunset.org gives both times in UTC, and we converted them. Light starts to go well before dinner, so springs, trails and boardwalks belong to the morning and early afternoon.
How warm is Orlando in November?
November’s normal range at the airport station runs from 58.2°F (14.6°C) to 78.3°F (25.7°C), a spread of 20.1°F inside a single day. There is no sea figure to add: Orlando lies inland, our sources carry no ocean reading for the nearest coasts, and we quote none. The water we could measure is at the springs north of town, 74.3°F to 75.6°F on USGS gauges in September 2026.
In practice, a 7 a.m. start sits near the low, cool enough for long sleeves, and by mid-afternoon the air closes on 78°F, shirt-sleeve weather. The Wekiwa gauge read 75.6°F on September 11, 2026, and that water barely moves with the month. It runs about 17°F above the average dawn and under 3°F below the average afternoon high, so a morning swim feels warm and a 3 p.m. one feels close to the air.
We found no count of freezing nights for Orlando in November, so we give none. The station normals show a 58.2°F average low, 26°F above freezing, and December’s average low of 52.9°F still sits about 21°F above it. A cold snap can undercut any average, so pack one warm layer for evenings.
How busy is Orlando in November? Crowds and prices
NOAA closes the hurricane season on November 30 and places its peak on September 10, while March fills the Orlando theme parks with family school holidays. We found no occupancy series and no monthly hotel rates for Orlando, so we crown no month cheap or expensive and leave November unranked.
Disney and Universal price tickets dynamically by date, so the day you choose sets the ticket price, and any figure we printed would be stale within weeks. Check the operators on your exact dates before locking flights. We have no booking-window data either, so we give no number of weeks to book ahead. Orange County, home to Orlando and the parks, levies a 6.0% transient rental tax, filed and paid with the 6% Florida state sales tax, according to the Florida Department of Revenue (form DR-15TDT). If one line deserves extra money in November, it is the refundable rate. Things to do in Orlando in November
November lets you spend a whole day outdoors around Orlando without October’s heat: highs of 78.3°F instead of 84.7°F, and 3.0 rain days instead of 5.3. The trail and paddle country north of the city opens up to a full morning and a long lunch, in air that stays cooler than the spring water well into the day.
Wekiwa Springs State Park, the nearest spring to Orlando, counts 325 parking spaces, one designated swimming area, one canoe, kayak and tube launch, 15.9 miles of paddling trail, 13.7 miles of hiking trail and 1,435 feet of boardwalk in the state’s 2024 facilities inventory. Its USGS gauge read 75.6°F on September 11, 2026. Rock Springs, the tubing run at Kelly Park, read 75.0°F the same day. Blue Spring State Park has 187 spaces, three observation platforms, six cabins and 3,050 feet of boardwalk, the longest at any Florida spring park in that inventory, with its gauge at 74.3°F and 168 cubic feet per second.
Those readings date from September 2026, but water rising from the Upper Floridan aquifer holds steady through the year while the air temperature changes. In November the gap swings toward the water: at dawn a 75°F spring sits some 17°F above the average low. That relative warmth draws manatees to springs in the winter months, as the river around them cools. We verified no per-spring manatee count, so read our manatee guide before planning on a sighting.
We cannot tell you what is free this month. The Florida state parks site refused our reads, so we have no entrance fee and no opening hour for Wekiwa or Blue Spring, and fees vary by park and by season. The parking counts are firm, 325 spaces at Wekiwa and 187 at Blue Spring, and popular springs can turn cars away on a busy morning. Check each park’s own page for fees and arrive early.
Orlando in November: a two-day itinerary
Day one. Reach Wekiwa Springs soon after the 6:47 a.m. sunrise and the park’s opening (we could not verify the hour, so check it), while the 325 spaces still have room. Walk the boardwalk and a stretch of the 13.7 miles of hiking trail in the cool of the morning, then take to the paddling trail from the launch. Swim around midday, when the air closes on the spring’s 75°F. Head back toward Orlando by mid-afternoon and plan dinner around the 5:33 p.m. sunset.
Day two. Drive to Blue Spring for its 3,050-foot boardwalk and three observation platforms in the morning, then float Rock Springs at Kelly Park after lunch. If the day turns into one of November’s 3.0 rain days, stay in the city on LYNX, the bus network of Orange, Seminole and Osceola counties. Ask the operator for an All-Day Pass ($4.50) before paying the farebox, and it runs from 4:00 a.m. to 3:00 a.m. the next day. A single ride is $2.00. On NOAA’s airport normals, November runs 6.4°F cooler than October by day and 8.0°F cooler by night, and 4.5°F warmer than December by day and 5.3°F by night. It is also the driest of the three: 1.79 inches over 3.0 days, against 3.46 inches over 5.3 days in October and 2.48 inches over 3.7 days in December. The springs, the only water we measured, stay in the mid-70s through all three months.
Move four weeks earlier and you gain warmth, with highs of 84.7°F, but add 2.3 rain days and step back toward the mid-August to mid-October stretch where NOAA places most hurricane activity. Move four weeks later and December puts you outside the season after its November 30 close, at the cost of 52.9°F nights and 0.7 more rain days. Is November a good time to visit Orlando?
Yes, for travelers who want to walk the parks, hike, paddle or swim in the springs: 78.3°F afternoons and 3.0 rain days make November the most comfortable of the three months we compared. It is a weaker choice for anyone who needs zero exposure to the hurricane season, since the month falls inside it until November 30, and for early risers who dislike starting the day near 58°F.
If the storm caveat decides it, pick December: it sits outside the season, rain stays low at 3.7 days, and highs of 73.8°F still suit a full outdoor day. Of October, November and December, only November pairs highs near 78°F with the lowest rain count, 3.0 days.
The last word
The November decision comes down to one booking choice: a refundable room, so the tail of the hurricane season costs you nothing if it stirs. Take it, give the first morning to Wekiwa before the lot fills, and keep the second free for Blue Spring or the rain.
