Ocho Rios, the north-east and Port Antonio sat furthest from the landfall and carry the least asterisk. Kingston was spared the worst and operates normally. The south coast (St. Elizabeth, Treasure Beach) is the honest slow lane: hundreds of rooms remained out of service into 2026 and some reopenings stretch to mid-2027. Magical, recovering, and deserving of the recent-review rule twice over.

Verify at the property level, not the destination level: the island is open, individual hotels are each at their own chapter. Post-January 2026 reviews, recent photos, and a direct “is everything in the photos operating?” message cover it.

Price accordingly: some reopened properties court returning demand with sharp rates, one of the quiet values of 2026–27. Give the south coast grace or give it a miss this season, and check back: this page will say when that changes.
