How much is a taxi from Bergamo Airport to the city center?

Arriving late at Bergamo Airport: what are your options?

Line 1 leaves the airport until approximately 1:30 a.m., so most late landings still have a bus. On holidays the first bus is at 6:30 a.m. instead of 4:50 a.m. From downtown, Line 1 Aeroporto leaves the Station stop from 4:30 a.m. until around 1:00 a.m. For an early flight, count on that first bus, and leave town before 1:00 a.m. at the latest.

Renting a car at Bergamo Airport

Bergamo’s center has limited traffic zones, some always active and others active at certain hours. Cameras photograph license plates, and fines are sent to the driver’s home in the United States, according to the U.S. State Department (travel.state.gov). Città Alta is closed to private vehicles over 10.5 m long or 3 m high. Parking there is always allowed, any day and hour, even when the zone is active. Access to Città Alta by car goes through the Galleria Conca d’Oro roundabout on Viale Vittorio Emanuele II, and access is free. Seat belts are mandatory in Italy, and outside cities headlights must always be on. Rural roads are generally narrow, often without guardrails. A driver of a foreign-registered car stopped by police may have to pay a ticket at once, in cash in euros.
