Tickets are sold online through the Uffizi’s official ticketing site. The toll-free number 800 615 615 is staffed every day from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and callers from abroad dial +39 055 0354135. Ticket offices are under the Uffizi loggia, in the square in front of Pitti Palace and at the Boboli Gardens entrances.

Booking is optional, costs extra and reduces waiting times. It’s advised especially at extremely busy times. Anyone planning several days of museums can look at the five-day PassePartout, and anyone who wants the Vasari Corridor has the combined Uffizi ticket. That one requires entering the Uffizi 2 hours before the Vasari Corridor.

The Uffizi is open Tuesday to Sunday from 8:15 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. The ticket office closes at 5:30 p.m., which is also the last admission, one hour before closing. At 6:30 p.m. visitors are invited to head to the exit. The gallery is closed on Mondays (with exceptions), January 1 and December 25.

The Vasari Corridor has a special evening opening every Friday from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., from July 3 to November 20, 2026.

Booking ahead is advised to avoid long queues, and reservations are limited to keep crowds down. In cases of high attendance, staff may temporarily close some rooms or itineraries. Arriving at 8:15 a.m. gives the full opening day to work with.

The guided tour lasts about two hours. Entry from 4 p.m. costs €16, and since last entry is 5:30 p.m., that leaves up to two and a half hours before closing. Audioguides are handed out only until 5 p.m., so anyone arriving late who wants one should go early in that window.

The Uffizi is at Piazzale degli Uffizi 6, near Piazza della Signoria and the Ponte Vecchio. From Piazza della Signoria it’s only about 164 feet (50 meters). From Santa Maria Novella station the walk through the historic center takes about 15 to 20 minutes. ATAF bus lines 23, C1 and C3 run from the station to Piazza della Signoria or Lungarno Diaz. A taxi takes about 10 minutes and costs an average of 10 to 15 euros. Tram T2 links Florence airport with Santa Maria Novella in 20 minutes.

The historic center is a limited traffic zone (ZTL) for much of the day, and entry by private car is not recommended. Parking outside the zone is available at Santa Maria Novella, Porta al Prato and Parterre, where tram T1 runs to the center.

The gallery occupies the first and second floors of a building put up between 1560 and 1580. The visit includes Botticelli’s Birth of Venus, Caravaggio’s Medusa and works by Michelangelo, and eight rooms are dedicated to Caravaggio. Audioguides cost €6 and come in Italian, English, French, Spanish, German, Polish, Russian and Japanese. The Audio App covers 15 languages. The cafeteria is on the second floor and has a panoramic terrace.

The cloakroom is free and sits just after the entrances, under the Eastern colonnade of the courtyard. Backpacks, bags and umbrellas must be left there, and metal detector checks are in place. Flash photography, tripods and selfie sticks are forbidden, and so is eating and drinking in the exhibition areas. Visitors under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Lifts are located at the end of the visit.

The Vasari Corridor connects the Uffizi with Palazzo Vecchio and Palazzo Pitti. The visit lasts approximately 35 minutes over roughly 0.6 miles (1 km), and visitors should be at the meeting point next to the Loggia dei Lanzi at least 10 minutes before their slot. The exit is through the Rondò di Bacco gate into the Boboli Gardens, in Piazza Pitti.

The access ramp is in via della Ninna. Lifts are at the end of the visit, and toilets on all floors are equipped for visitors with disabilities. Free courtesy wheelchairs and walkers are available on demand. On free admission days, priority admission is suspended except for disabled visitors and their legal companions and pregnant women. The accessibility team answers at [email protected] or +39 055 2388617, Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The Uffizi Galleries also include Pitti Palace and the Boboli Gardens, each with its own ticket office. The Palatine Gallery and the Royal and Imperial Apartments are at Palazzo Pitti, piazza Pitti 1.
