Where to go on the Amalfi Coast in June
Positano
The village has colorful little houses and churches with domed, majolica-covered roofs. In June the afternoon high is 84°F (29°C) and the night low 68°F (20°C). Positano is also the end point of the Path of the Gods. It’s among the pricier and busier villages on the coast, so book a room early.
Amalfi
Amalfi is a former maritime republic, and its Duomo dates from the 9th century. The Arsenale and the Museo della Carta are both in town. The Marina Grande beach is very convenient and often crowded in peak season, so go early in the day.
Ravello
Ravello sits on a rocky spur between 350 and 365 meters (about 1,150 to 1,200 feet) above sea level. Villa Cimbrone has gardens and the Terrace of Infinity, and Villa Rufolo, built in the 13th century, has gardens suspended between sky and sea. The town has no beach of its own, so pair it with a swim elsewhere.
Atrani
Atrani is Italy’s smallest town, just 2,300 feet (700 meters) from Amalfi. That makes it an easy walk from Amalfi when the roads are slow.
Vietri sul Mare
Vietri sul Mare marks the eastern end of the coast and is known for its artistic ceramics. Salerno, with its regional railway station and its ferry and bus links to Amalfi, is the cheapest base for reaching it.
What to do on the Amalfi Coast in June
The Path of the Gods in early June light
The Sentiero degli Dei connects Agerola and Positano and takes about 3 hours. To reach the start, take a Travelmar ferry to Amalfi, then a shuttle bus to Agerola (Bomerano).
The Lemon Path from Maiori to Minori
The Sentiero dei Limoni runs from Maiori to Minori and takes about 4 hours. It’s a simple route that mixes urban stretches with stairs and natural trail. The Roman villa ruins in Minori make a stop along the way.
Wear shoes with grip for the stairs.
The Emerald Grotto at Conca dei Marini
The Grotta dello Smeraldo is at Conca dei Marini. You reach it by lift or by small boats. Entrance costs ten euros and includes the small boat tour inside.
With a sea at 73°F (23°C), a grotto visit pairs well with a swim on the same day.
The Arsenale in Amalfi
The Arsenale della Repubblica is a medieval shipyard cut into the rock. The Arsenal Experience offers multilingual guided tours of about 30 minutes each, included in the entrance ticket.
It makes a short stop between a morning walk and a late lunch.
Is the Amalfi Coast busy in June?
Amalfi gets many visitors in every period of the year, especially in the warm season. Positano is one of the most popular destinations for tourists from all over the world.
Book rooms early. Sleeping directly on the coast in Amalfi, Positano, Ravello or Praiano puts you close to the sights. Praiano is the quietest, most residential choice. Sorrento is a practical base with a train to Naples, and Salerno is the cheapest base.
In June, the ferries Travelmar runs between the towns are a useful alternative to the congested road.

You can swim at the small beach at the bottom of the Fiordo di Furore.
