What is the best way to get from Naples Airport to the city center?
Three options lead into the city. Alibus is the bus for Central Station and the port. The shared taxi covers the same stops for a flat €6. The regular taxi waits in front of arrivals and suits late or off-schedule landings.
- Alibus: about 15 minutes to Central Station, about 35 to the port · every 30 minutes · 6:00 to 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. from November 1, 2026 · for anyone landing inside those windows
- Shared taxi: Airport, Central Station and Molo Beverello · €6 per passenger, luggage included · leaves 15 minutes after the first 3 passengers arrive · for solo travelers and pairs who accept a short wait
- Taxi: lane in front of arrivals · for groups, heavy luggage or landings outside the Alibus hours
Landing between 6:00 and 9:00 a.m. or between 3:00 and 6:00 p.m., take Alibus. With luggage, the shared taxi’s €6 covers bags and drops you at the same stops. Landing at other hours, head for the taxi lane.
How do you take the metro or bus from Naples Airport?
Alibus runs from the airport to Piazza Garibaldi (Central Station), then to Immacolatella/Porta di Massa and on to Molo Angioino/Beverello at the Stazione Marittima.
The ride to Central Station takes about 15 minutes and the ride to the port about 35. Tickets come from the vending machines on the ground floor of arrivals, so buy one before you walk out to the stop.
Because the bus runs only in two windows, check the clock before you count on it. If a flight is delayed past 9:00 a.m. or 6:00 p.m., plan on a taxi.
Suburban buses are a separate service. They stop in front of departures when they arrive at the airport. Departing from the airport, the suburban bus leaves from the P Bus stop, next to the P1 parking area.
How much is a taxi from Naples Airport to the city center?
The regular taxi lane is in front of arrivals. No fare or travel time for it is available here, so ask the driver for the price before you get in.
The shared taxi costs €6 per passenger, luggage included, on the link between the airport, Central Station and Molo Beverello. The airport places the pick-up point about 330 feet (100 meters) from arrivals. The city describes the collective taxi stand in the former NCC area near the viale Ruffo di Calabria roundabout, with 4 places. Follow the signs and ask staff on the spot.
Arriving late at Naples Airport: what are your options?
The airport is closed from 10:30 p.m. to 3:30 a.m., except for exceptional flight delays. The taxi lane is in front of arrivals. A hotel transfer arranged ahead, or a hotel close to the airport for the first night, takes care of a late arrival. The information office is open every day from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at 081.7896.259. The shared taxi covers Central Station and Molo Beverello.
How do you get from Naples Airport to the ferry port?
Alibus stops at Molo Angioino/Beverello (Stazione Marittima), about 35 minutes from the airport. The shared taxi also reaches Molo Beverello for €6 per passenger. Leave a comfortable margin before your boat, since a missed bus means a 30-minute wait, or a longer one outside those windows.
Renting a car at Naples Airport
The pick-up area near arrivals has 80 stalls with a free stop of up to 15 minutes, and a vehicle may enter it once in 24 hours. Parking at P1 is free for the first 45 minutes. The ZTC (Traffic Controlled Zone) has been restored to make vehicle traffic smoother. The U.S. State Department says authorities fine drivers without the proper permits in historic downtown areas, and cameras photograph license plates. Fines are sent to the driver’s home in the United States. Seat belts are mandatory, and outside cities you must always use headlights. Rural roads are generally narrow and often have no guardrails. If stopped in a car registered abroad, be prepared to pay a ticket in cash in local currency.
